Multi-Agency Active Shooter Training
March 21, 2024 - Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on March 12th, 2024, over 80 first responders from across Calaveras County participated in active shooter training held at the Ironstone Event Center in Murphys, CA. The training focused on law enforcement working with fire and other first responders to access and treat victims during a hostile incident with an emphasis on accessing victims quickly to provide medical care, thus improving survivability. Throughout the day, participants increased their communication skills, gained a deep understanding of roles and responsibilities, and increased their ability to work as a cohesive team during stressful situations.
This is an annual training event held in various locations throughout the county to ensure all areas are prepared. We would like to thank the Ironstone Event Center, Red Cross, CERT, and volunteer role players for their efforts in supporting the training.
