April 3, 2024 - National Weather Service Hanford Office officials report a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 11:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 3 to 11:00 P.M.  Friday, April 5 for the Sierra Nevada above 4,000 feet.

4 to 8 inches of snow are expected above 4,000 feet and 6 to 12 inches of snow are expected above 6000 feet.

...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM PDT THIS
EVENING UNTIL 11 PM PDT FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Snow expected above 3,000 feet. Total snow accumulations
  6 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph on exposed
  ridgetops and along the crest.

* WHERE...Sierra Nevada from Yosemite National Park to northern
  portions of Kern County.

* WHEN...Valid from 11 PM PDT Wednesday evening until 11 PM PDT
  Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. Strong winds could
  cause tree damage. Cold wind chill readings as low as 20 degrees
  below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as
  30 minutes.
