April 3, 2024 - The Mariposa County Arts Council is pleased to introduce the Art + Community grant program, funded by the County of Mariposa, which will support artists and grassroots organizations using art projects and cultural programming to achieve community goals in Mariposa County.

Individual artists or groups/organizations working in Mariposa County are invited to apply from April 8 through April 29, 2024. Interested applicants should visit www.mariposaartscouncil.org/grant to see full grant guidelines and access the grant application portal. Request amounts are available between $750-$2,000 for selected projects.

An informational webinar and open Q&A session will be hosted by Arts Council staff on Wed. April 10 and on Thurs. April 18 at 6pm via Zoom. To register, please contact Ava Burns, at burns@mariposaartscouncil.org.

The Art + Community Grant program is designed to support projects and programs that serve and uplift our community, particularly for those who may not typically have access to the arts.

Applicants must demonstrate a deep understanding of, and reflect a commitment to, include and represent the communities or the natural, civic, or social ecosystems being supported. All funded activities or projects must be accessible to individuals with disabilities.

“We see this grant as a way to acknowledge and support the hard work being done by local artists, groups and organizations who are actively uplifting our community.” says Daisy Phillips, the Arts Council’s Director of Communications. “The Arts Council is honored to administer this program and we are excited to see Mariposa’s growing commitment to arts, culture and creativity.”

The Arts Council, is an incorporated not-for-profit organization, created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County and is supported in part by the County of Mariposa, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the California Arts Council, a state agency.
