Christmas In Coulterville - Rainy Day Fun!

December 20, 2015 - Santa is just like the postman…neither rain, sleet nor snow stops him on his ventures around the world, and that included a stop in Coulterville on Saturday, July 19th! Leaving his faithful reindeer behind coulterville christmas 2015 young childin a nice grassy field to rest, this year he decided to ride inside the cab of Coulterville’s fire engine rather than atop it. After all, he wanted to be nice and dry for the children who would soon be snuggling up to him to whisper in his ear what they wanted this Christmas.

Greeted by Frosty and some of his elves at the fire station as well as a long, long line of children and their parents patiently waiting for him, he and Ms. Santa had a busy afternoon finding out if each and every child in line had been naughty or nice and giving each one a gift to put under their tree. A big thank you to the Coulterville Fire Brigade for hosting this event once again!

After Santa’s visit, there was a wonderful dinner at the schoolhouse organized by the Coulterville Community Club. Thanks to the many, many generous donors this year, everyone’s plates were loaded down with turkey and ham and all the fixins’ topped off by every dessert imaginable…cakes, pies, cookies, and more!

For those brave enough to venture out in the rain early, the Rebekah’s breakfast not only had the usual yummy ham or sausage, eggs and pancakes, but included a generous side of homemade cookies, to get everyone’s sugar high for the day started off early. More cookies and other goodies were also available at the firehouse, of course. And, after fueling up at the community dinner and enjoying a Christmas story at the IOOF in the afternoon, the Gold Country Singer’s performance at the Methodist Church was topped off by another round of yummy, sugary desserts!

It was certainly a day filled with merriment! Thank you to each and every volunteer who helped and each and every contributor. As the saying goes…it take a village!

Happy New Year to all!
