April 10, 2024 - The Mother Lode Art Association will host its 69^th Fine Art Show and Exhibition at the Sonora Opera Hall Friday, April 12^th through Saturday, April 20^th. 

The Sonora Opera Hall is at 250 S. Washington Street, Sonora and the public is welcome at no charge.  Proceeds from entry sales, art sales, silent auction and raffle sales go to support art education in area schools.

Juried by renowned artists Suzanne Bean and Davis Perkins from San Rafael, Ca., will showcase works of local and regional artists.  Also on display will be a selection of student art, selected from the Youth Art Show now on display at the Tuolumne County Library, art works by the WATCH Resources Art Guild and award-winning photography from the Sonora Photo Club. 

The opening reception will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 12^th, with an award presentation at 6:00 p.m.  Appetizers and refreshments will be provided by the association and a tasting of Indigeny Reserve’s hard ciders.  Live music will be performed by Blue Oak.  Attendees have the opportunity to participate in a raffle and silent auction.  The grand raffle prize is an original painting from last year’s Best of Show winner, Susan Fry. 

The City of Sonora and Visit Tuolumne County will celebrate Art Week April 15 through April 21 and as a registered participant, the Mother Lode Art Association will continue showing its 69^th Fine Art Show and Exhibition daily through April 20^th.   The hours and special musical events scheduled are as follows:

April 12  5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. – Artists Reception, Award Presentation (6:00 p.m.), and music by Blue Oak

April 13  10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. – MLAA Fine Art Show and Exhibition and music 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. by Justice Ramos

April 14  10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. – MLAA Art Show and Exhibition and music 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. by Harp and Harp.

April 15 - April 18 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. – MLAA Art Show and Exhibition.

April 19  10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. – MLAA Art Show and Exhibition and music 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. by The Cedars

April 20  10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. – Art Show and Exhibition, Raffle and Silent Auction drawing (2:00 p.m.), music 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. by Friends of Ozzie.   5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Old Man with a Guitar (Mike Pizzano)
