December 22, 2015 - Chocolate Soup in Mariposa was the site of a book signing on December 12, 2015 by Patty Favier. Mariposa resident Patty Favier said she was a teacher for many years in Merced. After retiring from full time teaching she decided to publish a book to honor Maggy, her pet therapy dog who joined her in the classroom for twelve years.

Patty has self-published the book 'Maggy, Maggy, May, What Do You Say.' It is a wonderful children's book with simple rhyming, that's fashioned after the rhymes she used with her students.

Patty now has a new dog named Gus (pictured). Gus is eight months old and is in training to be a certified pet therapy dog to carry on the legacy of Maggy.

Patty Favier still teaches part time at Mariposa Elementary School.

The book 'Maggy, Maggy, May, What Do You Say' can be purchased in hard cover or paperback, and is currently available at Chocolate Soup in Mariposa.
