May 12, 2024 - Stanislaus County Sheriff Department officals report on Friday, at 3:05 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the report of a verbal argument and shots being fired in the 400 block of Kerr Avenue in Modesto. Before deputies arrived at the scene, a citizen driving by put the person in their vehicle and drove the man to a nearby ambulance in the 300 block of Kerr Avenue, where medical personnel pronounced the man deceased.

Due to the circumstances of the incident, detectives with the Major Crimes Unit responded and took over the investigation. They have not yet confirmed the identity of the victim, who is a white male in his mid-thirties. Parts of the 300 and 400 block of Kerr Ave. will be blocked for the next several hours.
