May 30, 2024 – Mariposa County Health & Human Services officials issue a reminder that as temperatures warm up even more, it's important to ensure that you and your family are prepared if a Wildfire ignites; taking a few extra steps now can make a big difference later.
Here are some things to think about while you prepare:
▪️ Monitor local area radio or television stations for the latest wildfire information.
▪️ Be prepared to evacuate at a moment's notice.
▪️ Have a 3-day emergency kit with essential items (food, water, records, medication) for each family member and pet, complete with medications, copies of prescriptions and medical supplies.
▪️ Know your evacuation plans and how to locate nearby shelters, including ones that take pets. If shelters are not a good option for you, try to arrange to stay with family or friends outside the threatened area.
