We've gathered some drowning prevention tips here to help:
- Learn basic swimming and water safety skills. This is important for both kids and adults!
- Ensure your pool is fully fenced to prevent someone from accidentally falling in.
- Supervise young children or others at risk closely when swimming.
- Wear a life jacket when appropriate - like on boats or natural water sources.
- Learn CPR.
- Learn about the often-hidden risks of natural water - like currents, rocks, or vegetation.
- Avoid alcohol to stay focused.
- Always swim with a buddy.
