January 11, 2016 - The Merced Police Department reports on Saturday, January 10, 2016 at 12:25 A.M. the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) developed information that Validated Gang Member, Alejandro Gonzalez,26, had firearms and drugs at his home. 

The Gang Violence Suppression Unit served a search warrant at his residence in the 1000 block of W. Sante Fe Ave. in the City of Merced. Upon serving the search warrant, GVSU officers located Mr. Gonzalez and Steffany Arellano,25, inside the residence with their child.

GVSU officers searched the home and located 2 loaded revolvers, ammunition and a stolen .22 caliber AK-47 style rifle.

Alejandro Gonzalez and Steffany Arellano were arrested and booked at the Merced County jail for possession of stolen property, conspiracy, child endangerment and gang enhancements. 

Merced Police are asking anyone with any information regarding this crime to contact Sgt. Rodriguez at (209) 385-4710, or the Merced Police Department Tipster Line at (209) 385-4725.
