June 8, 2024 – Merced County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Thursday, the Merced County Sheriff's Office Investigations Bureau and Supervised Release Team served various search warrants around the county for possession of illegal fireworks. The search warrants resulted in 415 pounds of illegal fireworks. This investigation is ongoing, and criminal charges will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office.

The Sheriff's Office would like to remind you that there are financial and criminal consequences for possessing, using, and selling illegal fireworks.
