January 15, 2016 - The Merced Police Department reports on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 3:10 P.M. Merced Police Dispatch advised over the radio of a stolen vehicle in the South Merced area.
Officer Ruiz of the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) located the stolen vehicle in the unit block of W. 12th St.
Officers arrested Jesus Serena,47, and Irene Serena,34, who were inside the stolen car.
Officers searched the car and located a loaded short barreled shot gun inside a gym bag that was lying on the front passenger seat of the car.
Jesus Serena was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a short barreled shotgun, felon in possession of ammunition and possession of stolen property.
Irene Serena was arrested for possession of a short barreled shotgun and possession of stolen property.
Both suspects were booked at the jail for the mentioned charges.
