14-Year-old Homicide Suspect Arrested 

June 19, 2024 – Merced – Merced Police Department officials report that Merced PD have located and arrested a 14-year-old male suspect for merced police departmenthomicide in San Jose, CA.

On June 15, 2024, at approximately 3:41 P.M., Merced Police Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1700 block of Conestoga Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 41-year-old male victim who had succumbed to a single gunshot wound.

Through witness interviews and video surveillance, investigators identified a 14-year-old male as the suspect in this tragic incident. Reports indicate that the disturbance stemmed from a dispute over money related to narcotics and the prostitution of an adult female within the residence.

Merced detectives, in collaboration with the MAGNET task force, successfully tracked the suspect to a hotel in San Jose, CA. On June 17, 2024, at approximately 3:00 P.M., the suspect was located and apprehended. He has been booked into Merced County Juvenile Hall on charges of homicide.
