January 17, 2016 - The Merced Police Department reports on Friday evening, January 15, 2016 at around 10:00 P.M. an adult male was walking in front of 841 W. 16th street in the roadway when he was struck by a car travelling west bound on 16th street.
The vehicle is possibly a newer 2014-2015 Dodge Dart with five spoke rims and a rear spoiler. There may be damage to the front right side of the car.
The driver is a male adult who stopped after the collision, moved the victim away from his car then pulled into the parking lot of 841 W. 16th street.
After a few minutes the suspect drove past the victim on the ground and fled east bound W. 16th Street, never rendering medical aid.
The adult male was pronounced dead at the scene.
