June 26, 2024 – Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office officials report that they, along with multiple partner agencies, continue to look for a Tuolumne County Sheriff logo new 4112024man who went missing over the weekend in Cleo’s Bath, east of Pinecrest Lake. On Sunday, June 23, 2024, around 10:15 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Cleo’s Bath for a report of a man who fell in the water.

The man was hiking near the upper portion of Cleo’s Bath with friends when he slipped on the rocks and fell into a portion of turbulent water above a waterfall. The man was last seen going over the waterfall. Deputies, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (SAR) team, the CalFire helicopter, California Fish and Wildlife, and members of the U.S. Forest Service began searching the area immediately. The heavy current prevented rescuers from safely accessing the area on foot, and the conditions were too dangerous for SAR divers. The search continues with no sign of the missing man.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public about the dangers of swift water and fast-flowing rivers. We urge everyone to use caution while enjoying our waterways.
