July 3, 2024 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that as they count down to the annual 4th of July celebrations at Bass Lake, the MCSO Boat Patrol Unit would like to remind both residents and visitors that driving under the influence while operating a vessel is equally as dangerous as operating a vehicle.
The legal limit for operating a vessel is the same as a vehicle - 0.08. Drivers/operators found to be above the legal limit will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. As always, we will be enforcing a ZERO TOLERANCE policy.
BUI/DUI is no joke! Always have a designated driver/operator. Drunk Driving: Over the Limit; Under Arrest.
