July 3, 2024 – On Friday, July 12 Music on the Green is pleased to host The Dogweed Stringband and on Saturday, July 13 the return of Mike Hammar and the Nails.
The Dogweed Stringband, from Alameda/Oakland, CA revives your favorite old-time grooves with soulful harmonies, red-hot musicianship and a penchant for Western Swing. Blending classics from old blues to 70's country with heart melting originals, the band features Joan Wilson Rueter on fiddle, guitar and vocals, Dawn Ellerbeck on upright bass, Rosie Steffy on harmonies and suitcase drums, and the electric sounds of Jamie Duncan and Jared Altura on twin lead guitars. Mike Hammar and the Nails are a highly acclaimed California contemporary blues band based out of the Central Valley. Mike and his band are the most anticipated band at Music on the Green year after year. It's an honor and a pleasure to have them return to the art park as a part of our summer concert series. All performances begin at 7:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) at the Mariposa County Art Park (5013 Hwy 140) in historic downtown Mariposa, CA. Parking is available along 4th and 5th St. The lower 5th St. parking lot provides an accessible pedestrian path to the Art Park through the Mariposa Creek Parkway entry. Tips for the performers will be solicited, encouraged, and appreciated.
