July 4, 2024 – Kern County Sheriff's Office officials report that on June 14, 2024, Deputies from the East Area Substations Section began working on a Community Oriented Policing project (COPs) in the Tehachapi area.  Deputies learned about numerous Vagos motorcycle gang members in the area that were harassing customers at a local business.

On July 3, 2024, deputies conducted follow-up on this COPs project and executed a search warrant in the 3,100 block of Melvin Street, Rosamond, California.  While at the residence, deputies arrested 46-year-old John Anderson of Rosamond.  Anderson was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and a gang enhancement.

As a result of this ongoing COPs project, deputies have arrested the Sergeant at Arms of the Antelope Valley Chapter of Vagos, Ulisses Navarette (2024-00072000).  Deputies have also arrested the President of the Antelope Valley Chapter of Vagos, John Anderson (2024-00078977).
