EVACUATIONS LIFTED FOR ALL AREAS OF GRANITE FIRE

Be aware that heavy fire and emergency traffic will remain in the area as fire suppression/repair efforts continue. Please continue to avoid the area as much as possible. If you must be in the area, please drive with extreme caution.

ROADWAY INFORMATION:

Highway 132 remains closed at this time at both entrances to Granite Springs, residents returning home will need to use alternate routes. Granite Springs road is open.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR RETURNING HOME AFTER A FIRE

  • Safety Information: Residents are asked not to wander around their property if possible. Please stay inside or near your homes while fire personnel remain working in the area. Fire personnel will continue to work in the above areas all hours of the day and night.
  • Inspect surroundings with caution: Be extremely cautious around trees, power poles, and other structures that may have been weakened by the fire. High winds can easily topple such compromised structures.

• Maintain a fire watch: Regularly check your property for any signs of residual fires, like smoke or hidden embers, especially in concealed areas like roof gutters. Please call 911 if you need to report any fire danger or dangerous situations to your home or property.

Mariposa County Sheriff's Office Issues Fire Alert 

July 6, 2024 – Mariposa County Sheriff's Office officials report the Granite Fire on Hwy 132 near Narcisco and Piney Creek area started at 4:57 P.M. The fire is currently on both sides of highway 132. If you are in the fire area, do not wait to be told to evacuate, if you do not feel safe, please leave immediately. Deputies are currently in the area making notifications to evacuate.

Fire is currently at 75 acres, per CAL FIRE. (Better mapping shows fire at 49 acres)

Mandatory Evacuation Order area:

132 and Piney Creek areas including Piney Creek to Stoney Oak Road.

Granite Springs Road from Hwy 132 to Creekside.

Evacuation Warning:

Hwy 132 Narcisco to Tulipan Road.

Temporary Evacuation Point: Lake Don Pedro Elementary 2411 Hildago Road, La Grange, CA.

Hwy 132 is closed in both directions from Arbolada Rd to Maravilla.
