FCSO murder suspects Medina
Homicide Detectives Arrest Two Suspects for Mendota Murder

July 12, 2024 – Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials report that Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a father and son for their roles in a recent murder.  Both share the same names of Javier Medina and have been booked into the Fresno County Jail.  The 61-year-old Medina faces a charge of accessory to murder and he also had an outstanding warrant for child molestation.  The 38-year-old Medina faces a charge of murder.

Shortly before 8:30 A.M. on Friday, July 5, 2024, deputies were dispatched to check on an injured person near Shields and Fairfax Avenues, just outside of Mendota.  Upon arrival, deputies were directed to a cornfield where they found a man who was deceased.  He was later identified as 37-year-old Antonio Torres Ochoa of Mendota.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation.  Detectives developed information that identified 38-year-old Javier Medina, a.k.a. Juju, as the primary suspect.  Detectives visited his home, executed a search warrant and arrested Medina for murder.  An additional search warrant was then served at his father’s home in Mendota.  Detectives then arrested 61-year-old Javier Medina for being an accessory to the murder.  This is an isolated incident where the victim and suspects knew each other.  Detectives continue to work to determine a motive.

Although arrests have been made, anyone with additional information about this case is asked to please contact Sheriff’s Detectives Jesse Gloria at (559) 600-8217, Oscar Iniguez at (559) 600-8201 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867, www.valleycrimestoppers.org.
