July 12, 2024 – CAL FIRE Madera-Mariposa-Merced officials report that as the French fire starts to enter the final phase of containment. CAL FIRE Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit would like to thank Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office, all of our cooperators, CAL FIRE Volunteers in Prevention (VIP’s) and the community for their partnership and support.

The French Fire is 908 acres and is 92% contained.
