July 15, 2024 – Mariposa County Health & Human Services issues reminder... Time to prepare is now.

Preparing early for adverse weather can give you and those you care about an opportunity to get ahead of disaster. We hope to make that easier by providing some reminders:

• Update your emergency contact information with your employer, your children’s school or childcare provider, your case worker, and anyone else who might need it.
• Build your go bag – this should include things like batteries, water bottles, chargers, personal hygiene items, and personal items.
• Organize and store important documents or valuables in a place that you can easily access if you need to evacuate.
• Make sure that your address sign is clearly visible on your home and on the road; this is crucial for first responders and public safety staff to ensure you and your family can be assisted if needed.
• Make a plan; talk with your family, neighbors and friends about what will need to happen if adverse weather is impacting your area. Include things like important phone numbers, names of family and pets, and emergency contacts.
• Register with the local alert system through the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office by visiting: www.MSOALERT.com.
• Like or Follow Local Officials to help you stay informed before, during, and after adverse weather.
