July 22, 2024 – Kern County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at approximately 1:30 A.M., deputies from the Lamont Substation response area were dispatched to the 7000 block of Brett Ave. in Lamont for a shots fired call for service.  During the course of the investigation, deputies detained Juan Gonzalez, a 57-year-old Hispanic male from Lamont. 

Deputies served a search warrant at the location and located evidence related to the shooting including a firearm and both live and spent ammunition.     

Gonzalez was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of an unregistered firearm.
