Search Efforts Continue for Missing Man
July 23, 2024 – Placer County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Monday, multiple agencies continue to search for Warren Elliott. The search is focused in the Rubicon Springs area.
The day began with a safety and information briefing for those involved in the search efforts.
Search teams are being picked up and transported into the search area by both the California and Nevada National Guard Blackhawk helicopters.
Warren Elliott left on foot, not in his jeep.
We thank all of the trained volunteers who have come out to assist.
On Monday there are about 50 searchers out, including two drone operators and four dog teams.
This is a very technical search, in tough terrain. It can be dangerous for those who are not highly trained with the right equipment. Because of the difficulty accessing the area, crews are being brought in by Blackhawk helicopters.
We thank Homewood Mountain Resort for allowing us to use their facilities during the search efforts.
Additional background:
Warren Elliott was with a group doing trail rehab ahead of the Jeep Jamboree this next weekend. He was a passenger in his son’s jeep. Elliott walked away as work was being done on Friday, July 19, 2024, he has not been seen or heard from since.
