July 25, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Sunday, July 21, 2024, just before 11:00 p.m., officers from the Southwest Policing District responded to Modoc Street and Strother Avenue for a Shot Spotter activation indicating multiple gunshots fired in the area. Officers arrived and found 22-year-old Jerrell Rogers on the scene, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and learned Rogers was walking to a neighborhood store when several males approached him. The males chased Rogers and ultimately shot him. Currently, the motive for the shooting is unknown, and detectives continuing to search the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.
