July 26, 2024 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that just before midnight on Wednesday, deputies responded to a 911 call that came from a home in Riverdale, near W. Mount Whitney and Garfield Avenues. There they found a man who had been shot. Deputies and EMS personnel provided first aid, but the man ultimately died.
Homicide detectives arrived along with members of our Crime Scene Unit to speak with potential witnesses and collect evidence.
Detectives have determined there was a group of people at the home, all of whom knew each other. A disturbance took place and shots were fired with one man being struck. Detectives are working to figure out who fired the shots. We know that several people left the home prior to deputies arriving and detectives are asking for these individuals to come forward and share their stories.
No arrests have been made and the name of the victim is not yet available for release.
