August 9, 2024 – Merced, CA – Merced Police Department officials report that on August 7th, 2024, the Merced Police Department with the assistance of Atwater, Livingston and Los Banos PD as well as State Parole and Merced Probation conducted a county wide compliance check for registered sex offenders. The purpose of the sweep was to ensure that all individuals required to register were in compliance with the law per the penal code.
During the sweep, 36 individuals were selected for compliance checks. 19 total were contacted, 21 probation and parole searches were conducted and 6 individuals were arrested for various criminal violations.
This combined effort between multiple agencies highlights the commitment to safety and professionalism of Merced County Law Enforcement to our citizens and community.
