August 13, 2024 – Merced County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday morning, Deputy Lopez responded to the 7000 block of Baxter Road in Le Grand for a report of a stolen ATV. Witnesses saw three suspects pushing the ATV into an orchard. Through investigative leads, Deputy Lopez was able to obtain a description of the vehicle and suspects.

Later in the afternoon, Deputy Lopez was on patrol in Planada when she spotted the suspect's vehicle. She conducted a vehicle stop and detained three suspects, identified as Andrew Gustavo Cacho, Jesus Duran Moreno Jr., and Maria Melina Rangel. These suspects fit the description of the suspects from the ATV theft.

During the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle the suspects were using was stolen as well. Cacho, Moreno, and Rangel were arrested for various charges. Great job, Deputy Lopez!
