Man Arrested for Soliciting Minor 

August 16, 2024 – Grass Valley, CA – Nevada County Sheriff’s Office officials report that 29-year-old Ryan Carlson of Vacaville, CA, was arrested on Aug. 14 by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) on several felony charges: PC 288A – Lewd and lascivious acts with a minor; PC 288.2 - Sending harmful material to seduce a minor; and PC 288.3 - Contacting a minor with intent of committing a sex crime.

On the evening of August 13, NCSO deputies responded to a report of an adult male contacting a 13-year-old female of Grass Valley electronically and having inappropriate conversations with her. Patrol deputies made an initial investigation, and the case was forwarded to its Major Crimes Unit (MCU) for follow-up.

The investigation revealed that 29-year-old Ryan Carlson of Vacaville, CA was the adult male communicating inappropriately with the female minor. NCSO detectives located Carlson in the 2400 block of Huntington Drive in Fairfield, CA and arrested him on the above-mentioned charges.

Detectives also served a search warrant at his residence in the 800 block of Beelard Drive in Vacaville where they seized additional electronic devices. Those devices will be sent to a forensic laboratory for examination.

Based on the seriousness of the charges at hand, detectives requested a bail enhancement from the Nevada County Superior Court and Carlson is being held in custody at Wayne Brown Correctional Facility with bail set at $100,000.
