August 21, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, officers from the Southwest Policing District responded to the area of Santa Clara Avenue & B Street for a six (6) round Shot Spotter activation. When officers arrived, they were advised by a witness that a gunshot victim was in front of a nearby apartment complex. Officers located 21-year-old Christopher Worthy on the grassy area in front of the apartment complex, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was unresponsive, and officers provided lifesaving measures until relieved by EMS and Fire Department personnel. Worthy was transported to CRMC and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

At this time in the investigation, homicide detectives have learned that the victim was involved in an argument moments before the shooting occurred. Detectives continue to seek any witnesses to this shooting.
