August 22, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on August 9, 2024, just after midnight, Northwest officers responded to the area of Knoll Avenue and Michigan Avenue regarding shots fired in the area. As they were responding, officers observed a vehicle erratically leaving the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle, and the occupants began throwing multiple firearms from the car during the pursuit.
A Pursuit Mobilization Technique (PIT) was authorized and performed safely in the area of Clinton Avenue and Cornelia Avenue. As the vehicle came to a stop, several occupant began to run from the officers. All five occupants were located and arrested. Four of the suspects were 19 years old, the driver was found to be the father of two of the suspects.
During the investigation, officers and detectives located over 50 expended shell casings in front of the victim’s residence. The residence and the vehicle were struck numerous times. Fortunately no-one was struck by gunfire or injured during the shooting.

The safe apprehension conducted by members of the Northwest District Safety Team puts a halt to the acts of violence by these suspects who endangered citizens of Fresno.
