Update Per Fresno County Sheriff's Office: We have identified him as 52-year-old Donovan Smith and contacted his family. Thank you all for helping us solve this case.
August 27, 2024 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that on May 30th, 2024, a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area of Blackstone and Griffith in Fresno. The man suffered major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. Staff members were never able to speak with him and learn his name before he passed away on August 20th. Fingerprints also yielded negative results. Our Coroner’s Office now hopes someone can help identify him from the picture attached. One distinguishing feature was a faded tattoo on his upper left arm, which appears to be a rose.
Identifying a victim and locating their immediate family members is a necessary process in order for the Coroner’s Unit to release the body and allow the person to have a proper burial.
