August 28, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that in May 2024, the Career Criminal Auto Theft Team (CCATT) initiated an investigation into a group stealing GM trucks and SUVs.  On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the investigation concluded with the service of multiple arrest and search warrants in Northwest Fresno.

The following suspects were arrested during the search warrants on August 22, 2024:

• Adrianne Gonzalez: Narcotics Warrant
• Anthony Medellin: Auto Theft Warrant and Trespassing Warrant
• Ernest Martinez: Possession of Narcotics, Domestic Violence, Robbery and an Auto Theft Warrant
• Lorenzo Delatorre: Parole Violation and Auto Theft Warrant
• Michael Miller: Auto Theft Warrant
• Richard Renteria: Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Stolen Firearm
• Robert Garcia: Prostitution Warrant
• Robert Helmuth: Felony Narcotics Possession and Felon in Possession of Firearms

42-year-old Jose Casillas is currently wanted for auto theft.

In all, the investigation culminated in the following:

• 8 illegal firearms seized
• 2 ounces of methamphetamine seized
• The recovery of 12 stolen vehicles
• The discovery of 3 chop shops
• 12 arrests, including three gang members.
