August 29, 2024 - SONORA, Calif – Phase One Fire Hire is currently underway at the Stanislaus National Forest. Phase One includes a variety of positions within the Fire and Aviation portfolio at or below the GS-9 level and is an incredible opportunity for individual considering a career in wildland fire.
The Stanislaus National Forest employs firefighter and support personnel for ground and air-based wildland fire suppression and fuels management. This includes dispatchers and warehouse crews who assist frontliners with vital logistical and strategic services. We hire four times per year for permanent fire positions. The application period opened August 23 and closes September 24.
