August 29, 2024 – Merced County Sheriff’s Office officials report that last week, the Merced County Sheriff's Enforcement Team and the Merced Police Department's Detective Bureau found a large illegal manufacturing business in the 2000 block of Dunn Road. Deputies seized firearms and a large amount of cash, along with over 20 pounds of Psilocybin mushrooms, 200 pounds of marijuana, and hundreds of bins containing THC-infused edibles, wax, oils, and other THC concentrates.
This illegal black-market operation was operating without any local or state permits and was a serious threat to the community and surrounding neighbors. As a result of the investigation, two adults were arrested and booked into jail. The reason why these products are so dangerous is because they are unregulated and are extremely potent. The last thing we want is for kids to get a hold of these products. We hope this serves as a reminder for parents to talk to their kids about the dangers of these substances. As always, please call your local law enforcement to report any suspicious activity.
