September 4, 2024 – Merced County Sheriff's Office officials report that early on Tuesday morning, Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing in the 7000 block of Merced Avenue in Delhi. When Deputies arrived, they located a victim suffering from stab wounds. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Our Investigations Bureau responded to assist with the investigation. Deputies on scene were able to identify the suspect as Emilio Marcelino Herrera Trujeque, and our Detectives immediately began working the case. At around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Detectives located Trujeque and took him into custody without incident. We're proud of our team for their quick and diligent work on this case!
