September 12, 2024 - Yosemite National Park officials report Park rangers are currently searching for an overdue backpacker near Ostrander Lake.

If you were in the area between August 23 and August 27 and saw the the missing person OR were in the area and did NOT see him, please contact the ISB tip line at 888-653-0009.

Kirk S. Thomas Olsen planned to backpack in the Ostrander Lake Area from August 23 to 27, and has been overdue for two weeks.

Mr. Olsen is a 61-year-old Caucasian male, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a fair complexion.
