Arrest Made in Newman School Threat
September 14, 2024 – Newman Police Department officials report that on September 12, 2024, the Newman Police Department was made aware of posts to a social media platform regarding a planned school shooting. One post in particular named several schools in the westside of Stanislaus County.
Through the investigation, a juvenile Newman resident was identified as the suspect and has been arrested for the charges of 422 PC and 71 PC on Friday afternoon.
We have, and will continue to have, zero tolerance for threats such as these which instill fear in our community, and we will seek prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
Parents, you are encouraged to use this opportunity to speak with your children to educate them about the potential consequences and repercussions of such serious actions. Additionally, you are encouraged to continuously monitor your children’s social media activity.
