September 16, 2024 – At its August meeting, the John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation board voted to add Anna Mejias to its team.
Mejias is an Office Technician at Mariposa County Health and Human Services. Her journey in healthcare began at John C. Fremont Healthcare District where she joined the
Certified Nursing Assistant training program in 2011. Over the span of a decade, Mejias contributed to multiple departments within the district, gaining valuable insights and experience in the healthcare sector.
“My interest in joining the John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation board stems from my long-standing connection to the Healthcare District and desire to contribute to its continued success,” said Meijas. “I am driven by a passion for supporting community health and wellness.”
In addition to working at the County, Anna is pursuing her associate degree in political science from Merced College and will be transferring to CSU Stanislaus in the spring of 2025 to complete her bachelor’s degree.
“Given her schedule, we are absolutely grateful that Anna has chosen to volunteer her time for the Foundation,” said Heather Bernikoff, Foundation President. “She brings a unique and critical set of skills and is already contributing substantially to the operations of the Foundation.”
“Her addition further strengthens our good relationship with Mariposa County Health and Human Services Department,” Bernikoff continued.
Mejias has joined the Events Committee and is taking over the Vending Program at the hospital from volunteer and former board member Chris Mitchell who has served thoughtfully in that role for the last several years.
Mejias joins JCF Hospital Foundation board members Heather Bernikoff, president; Jill Harry, secretary; Saralynn Nusbaum, treasurer; Mike Wichmann, events committee chair; Megan Mickel, brick program chair; and Beth Tomsick, fundraising committee chair.
