National Cold Case Month Investigation 

September 16, 2024 – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on the morning of June 14th, 1990, James Edward Curre was found deceased on his driveway in Copperopolis.

Evidence revealed James was attacked by a knife-wielding suspect(s) in his residence during the night of the 14th.

5 kilos of cocaine were discovered in the residence during the subsequent investigation. This homicide remains unsolved.
