September 16, 2024 - Mariposa, CA — As fall approaches and cooler weather arrives, CAL FIRE would like to remind the public that debris burning of vegetation is still currently suspended.
CAL FIRE firefighters and CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officers will be responding to fires and enforcing the suspension of debris burning.
The outdoor vegetation is still highly flammable despite cooler weather. Increased wind speeds also come with the cooler weather, which can and does result in bum piles escaping control prompting a CAL FIRE emergency response to put the fire out.
Negligent and/or reckless burning will be enforced. Please be safe and enjoy the cooler temperatures safely.
CAL FIRE would like to take this opportunity to remind the public, once burning is permissive to obtain a burn permit, and follow the guidelines for proper burning of debris piles.
