February 17, 2016 - The Merced Police Department reports on Friday, February 12, 2016 at approximately 10:00 P.M., Merced Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 400 Block N Street in regards to angel mancha merced police departmentyoung children possibly being forced to sleep outside their apartment. 

Officers found an 8 year old and 6 year old sleeping outside on the concrete patio. The temperature outside at the time was approximately 51 degrees. The children told officers it was cold and they did not want to sleep outside. The children stated they did not know why they were forced to sleep outside. 

Officers contacted the father, Angel Mancha, 29,  inside the apartment. He was arrested for child endangerment. During the investigation, officers learned the children had been asking their neighbors for water.
