February 17, 2016 - The Tuolumne County Sheriff Department reports on Wednesday morning at about 6:45 A.M., an alert citizen called and reported a suspicious dark colored Chevy truck parked on the side of Jamestown Rd., north of the Motherlode Gun Club. The citizen reported seeing two men in the brush, near the truck.
When deputies arrived they made contact with four men from Modesto and found that the truck was broken down. During the investigation five boxes of immature marijuana plants were located in the brush next to the truck. The
boxes contained several hundred marijuana plants inside foam cups, ready to be planted. Victor Urena, 34, Gamaliel Rios, 27, Lorenzo Alanis Jr., 43, and Gregorio Jaime, 37, were arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on charges of conspiracy to transport and cultivate marijuana.
Rios was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana seeds.
The four men are each being held on a $40,000 bail.
