September 24, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 40-year-old Ricardo Martinez Olguin.
In the early hours of Sunday, September 22, 2024, just after 4:00 a.m., officers from the Southeast Policing District responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 4400 Block of East Floradora. Upon arrival, officers found 40-year-old Ricardo Martinez Olguin lying beside his bicycle in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Olguin, who was conscious when the officers arrived, informed them that he had been shot by an unknown individual on a bicycle. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC), where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, and at this time, the motive for the shooting remains unclear. Detectives are actively canvassing the area for witnesses and reviewing available surveillance footage. Detectives urge anyone with information about this incident to contact the Fresno Police Department.
