September 27, 2024 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that over the last few weeks, the Tuolumne County Narcotics Team (TNT) conducted an investigation into Fentanyl and methamphetamine sales within Tuolumne County, which led them to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the area of Serrano Road in Sonora.

During the early morning hours of Friday, September 20th, 2024, the Tuolumne County Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team served the search warrant at the residence. SWAT Team members contacted 39-year-old Shon Cormack and 38-year-old Mellita Mariena Cognetti at the residence and detained them. Once SWAT team members secured the residence, TNT Agents continued their investigation. During the search of the residence, TNT Agents found narcotics, digital scales, drug packaging materials, substances and equipment used to mix narcotics, and a significant amount of drug paraphernalia.

Cormack and Cognetti were arrested and transported to the Dambacher Detention Center (DDC), where they were booked on charges of 11366 HS - Maintaining a drug house, 11350(A) HS - Possession of a narcotic controlled substance, 11377(A) possession of a controlled substance, 11364(A) HS - Possession of unlawful drug use paraphernalia, and 135 PC - Destruction of evidence.
