Two Fentanyl Dealers Sentenced to Prison

September 28, 2024 – Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office officials report that over the last two months, the Tuolumne County Narcotics (TNT) Team along with the assistance of Tuolumne County Probation’s High Risk Supervision Team, have been involved in a variety of drug sales investigations throughout Tuolumne County. We want to provide our community with a case update on two individuals arrested last month during drug sales-related investigations.

In August 2024, 39-year-old Daniel Stephen Curtis and 43-year-old Gina Maria Chiodo were arrested for several drug related charges, following an in-depth investigation which led to a search warrant service at a home in Jamestown.

Since the arrest, The Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office has swiftly and relentlessly pursued prosecution of Curtis and Chiodo for drug sales related crimes.

Earlier this week Daniel Curtis pled guilty to multiple drug sales related charges including 11366 HS – Maintaining a place for the purpose of drug sales and 11351 HS – Possession of a narcotic controlled substance for sale. Curtis’s sentencing for a total of 7 years 8 months in State Prison is set for October. Gina Chiodo also pled guilty this week to the charge of 11366 HS. Chiodo’s sentencing for a total of 2 years and 8 months State Prison is set for October. At the request of the DA, Both Curtis and Chiodo were given a Fentanyl advisement by the court.

A Fentanyl advisement is given to people who are convicted of crimes related to the sale and distribution of controlled substances: The advisement states; Illegally selling or furnishing these drugs carries with it the specific risk that they are providing drugs laced with a potentially lethal substance and they are advised that if they do so, and a person dies as a result of ingesting Fentanyl-laced product, they can be charged with manslaughter or murder.

From investigation to conviction has required a collaborative team effort. We will continue to remain unified in our efforts to keep Tuolumne County safe and rid our community of these deadly substances.
