Commercial Burglary Investigation Update
October 8, 2024 – Madera County Sheriff’s Office officials report that following a vehicle pursuit from Coarsegold to Madera on the morning of September 29, 2024, four adult men were arrested for their involvement in a commercial burglary. The group stole multiple bicycles totaling over $20,000 from Pedal Forward Bikes & Adventure Shop in the County of Madera earlier that day.
All stolen bicycles were located inside the white van driven by the four suspects, Isaac Antonio Alvarez, Earwin McCullar, Manuel Tejeda and Orlan Doser, all of Fresno. The bicycles were recovered and returned to the business owner.
During the initial investigation, a 5th suspect, a man called Eddie, was identified as the organizer of the burglary operation. He was observed on video driving a red Lincoln MKX leading the white van into and out of Oakhurst. Madera Special Enforcement Team (MADSET) took over the investigation and was able to link Edward Malagon of Fresno to a red Lincoln MKX matching the vehicle seen in surveillance footage.
On October 3, 2024, the Madera Narcotics Enforcement Team (MADNET) located the suspect vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence associated with Malagon in the 5400 block of E. Lane Avenue in Fresno. Around 1:00 p.m., detectives took Malagon into custody without incident and booked him into the Madera County Jail on felony charges of burglary and conspiracy.
Sheriff Tyson Pogue states, “I commend the diligent efforts of our team to thoroughly investigate this case and apprehended all suspects involved. Let this be an unmistakable reminder to all that we take a strong stand against criminal activity in Madera County.”
