October 10, 2024 – El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 6th, 2024, around 2:00 a.m., a Deputy from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a truck that was driving at an excessive speed on HWY 50 in Pollock Pines. During the traffic stop, the deputy observed a partially covered deer under a tarp in the bed of the truck.
After speaking with the 4 occupants of the truck, it was learned that only one had a hunting license (not currently in possession), no valid deer tags, and a rifle in the rear passenger compartment. After further investigation, it was determined that the deer had been illegally harvested. The occupants of the vehicle were cited for a multitude of Fish and Game violations.
Bottom line: Hunt Legally... Do not poach wildlife in El Dorado County, you will be caught.
