October 10, 2024 – Kern County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., deputies from the Buttonwillow Substation response area were dispatched to the 16000 block of Magnolia Ave. for an illegal shooting and brandishing of a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a 47-year-old Hispanic male from Wasco. The suspect delayed deputies, resisted arrest, and was taken into custody. Deputies wrote a search warrant for the residence and located several illegal firearms.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Kern County jail for Criminal Threats, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Firearms, Resisting Arrest and Brandishing of a Deadly Weapon.
