Updated to a Homicide Investigation 

October 22, 2024 – Placer County Sheriff's Office officials report that they were called to a home on Lou Place shortly after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, for a report of suspicious circumstances. We gathered information that led us to believe a man in his mid-30’s was inside the home. We tried to make initial contact with the man but were unable to. Our special enforcement team was called out along with our crisis negotiators.

Around 11:45 a.m. on Monday morning a man surrendered and was detained. Deputies then entered the home where they found a man and woman deceased. We are investigating their deaths as a homicide. It is believed the man we detained is the sole suspect.

Suspicious Circumstances Investigation in Granite Bay

On Monday, October 21, 2024, shortly after 8:00 a.m. we received a call reporting suspicious circumstances at a home in the area of Lou Place and Oak Leaf Way in Granite Bay. At this time we have Oak Leaf Way from Mac Duff Drive to just south of Lou Place closed as we investigate. Please avoid this area. We are asking residents in the immediate area to shelter in place.
